Bournemouth instructor and England Coach Mr Daniel Lammin and Bournemouth student Zoe Mattacks have just returned from the Holland Cup in Delft. The tournament was attended by over 600 competitors from 11 countries making it one of the largest and most competitive on the European calendar.
Miss Mattacks has represented England a number of times with a good deal of success over the past 2 years since first being selected. On this occasion she narrowly missed out on medals in both patterns and sparring coming losing bronze play offs on in both patterns and sparring.
Due to an injury to one of the men’s team in the individual events team coach Mr Lammin had to stand in and fight as the 5th member of the men’s team in the team event which was the climax of the day and was contested by 16 teams from all over Europe. After making their way through to the semi finals the P.U.M.A. England Team lost a narrow tight match 3 to 2 against the host team from Holland. Despite this disappointment they picked themselves up to win the bronze fight off without losing a match.
Mr Lammin and the whole squad would like to thank the hosts Tim and Corinne Kool for their hospitality and organising such a fantastic tournament.
